Abstract
Microtextured elastomeric laminates comprising at least one elastomeric layer and at least one thin skin layer is preferably prepared by coextrusion of the layers followed by stretching the laminate past the elastic limit of the skin layers and then allowing the laminate to recover.
Claims14
An elastomeric laminate consisting essentially of at least one elastomeric layer and at least one continuous microtextured skin layer over substantially the entire laminate wherein:
- (a) the microtexture on said skin layer is formed by stretching an untextured laminate past the deformation limit of at least one untextured skin layer and allowing the stretched laminate to elastically recover over the entire region stretched and
- (b) said at least one elastomeric layer and said at least one continuous microtextured skin layer are in substantially continuous contact.
A colored elastomeric ribbon comprising at least one layer having an added colorant and at least one opaque polymeric skin layer, wherein said at least one opaque polymeric skin layer is a microtextured outer layer.
A sheet laminate comprising at least one elastomeric layer and at least one outer microtextured skin layer wherein:
- (a) the sheet has enclosed or partially enclosed spaces for entrapping dust or oil and
- (b) the laminate microtexture is formed by multiaxially stretching the laminate.
