Abstract
A process is provided for producing dikegulac and its salts and derivatives from 2-keto-L-gulonic acid starting material.
Claims3
A process for producing dikegulac, comprising:
- reacting 2-keto-L-gulonic acid with 2,2-dimethoxypropane to produce a reaction intermediate having a chemical formula ##STR6## reacting said reaction intermediate with a base to complete saponification and produce an acid salt having a chemical formula ##STR7## wherein M.sup.+ =sodium, potassium, ammonium, calcium, magnesium or copper.
