Abstract
A thermoplastic polyurethane urea prepared by reacting a reaction mixture of a) one or more polyisocyanates, with b) one or more compounds having on average at least 1.8 Zerewitinoff-active hydrogen atoms and a molecular weight of between 400 and 10,000, and c) water, wherein the water is introduced into the reaction mixture with the aid of an effective quantity of one or more emulsifiers. The reaction mixture may additionally contain d) further conventional auxiliary substances and additives.

A thermoplastic molding composition comprising a polyurethane urea prepared by reacting a mixture comprising
- a) at least one polyisocyanate,
- b) at least one compound having a number average molecular weight of 400 to 10,000 and on average at least 1.8 Zerewitinoff-active hydrogen atoms and
- c) water,
- wherein water is introduced into said mixture along with an effective amount of at least one emulsifier, said polyurethane urea having a solid content of at least 70% by weight.
