Abstract
Immunogenic compositions capable of generating an immune response in mammals against GnRH are disclosed. The immunogenic compositions are effective in methods of treating gonadotropin and gonadal steroid hormone dependent diseases and immunological contraception of mammals.

An anti-GnRH immunogenic composition comprising a peptide selected from the group consisting of Cys-Pro-Pro-Pro-Pro-Ser-Ser-Glu-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-Gly-Leu-Arg-Pro-GlyNH.sub. 2 (SEQ ID NO:
- 5 in the Sequence Listing) and pGlu-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-Gly-Leu-Arg-Pro-Gly-Ser-Ser-Pro-Pro-Pro-Pro-Cys (SEQ ID NO:
- 6 in the Sequence Listing) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier.
