Abstract
Inks, particularly inks for ink jet printing, contain at least one compound of the formula I ##STR1## as a stabilizer. The symbols R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.3 ' and R.sub.4 ' are as defined in claim 1. The compounds are in part novel and are suitable for use as light stabilizers for organic materials.
Claims4
A compound of the formula I.sup.o ##STR28## in which R.sup.o.sub.1 and R.sup.o.sub.2 independently of one another are C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by one or 2 --OH, --COO.sup..crclbar. M.sup..sym. or --SO.sub.3.sup..crclbar. M.sup..sym. groups, C.sub.3 -C.sub.5 alkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.5 alkinyl, ##STR29## --CH.sub.2 CH(OH)CH.sub.2 --SO.sub.3.sup..crclbar. M.sup..sym., --CO--alkyl(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4) which is unsubstituted or substituted by --COOR.sub.5 or, if OR.sup.o.sub.1 and OR.sup.o.sub.2 are in the ortho-position relative to one another, R.sup.o.sub.1 and R.sup.o.sub.2 together are C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkylene, M.sup..sym. being H.sup..sym., an alkali metal ion or a group (R.sub.12 ")N.sup..sym. (R.sub.12 ')(R.sub.13 ')(R.sub.14 '), where R.sub.12 ', R.sub.13 ", R.sub.13 ' and R.sub.14 ' are independently of one another H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, optionally substituted by 1 to 3 OH or optionally interrupted by an O atom, allyl, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl, benzyl or tolyl, or R.sup.o.sub.1 can also be a group ##STR30## in which p' is a number from 2 to 6, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 independently of one another are H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by an OH, COOR.sup.o, --COO.sup..crclbar. M.sup..sym. group, R.sub.3 ' and R.sub.4 ' independently of one another are H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, OH or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, R.sup.o.sub.3 and R.sup.o.sub.4 independently of one another are H, halogen, --OR.sub.7, --COOR.sup.o, --COO.sup..crclbar. M.sup..sym., C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by 1 to 7 --OR.sub.5 or --OOC--R.sub.5 groups, by 1 or 2 --COOR.sup.o or --COO.sup..crclbar. M.sup..sym. groups or by one --SO.sub.3.sup..crclbar. M.sup..sym. group or C.sub.5 -C.sub.6 cycloalkyl where M.sup..sym. and R.sub.5 are as defined above, R.sup.o being C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by an --OH group, and R.sub.7 being C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or --CO--alkyl(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4) each of which is unsubstituted or substituted by one or two --OH groups, or R.sup.o.sub.3 and R.sup.o.sub.4 independently of one another are a group of the formula II ##STR31## in which R.sup.o.sub.8 is a direct bond or methylene, R.sub.9 is H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, --COO.sup..crclbar. M.sup..sym. or --SO.sub.3.sup..crclbar. M.sup..sym., with the exception of 3,4,5-triethoxybenzoic acid, 3,4,5-tris-(beta-hydroxy-ethoxy)-benzoic acid and alkali or alkaline earth metal salts thereof;
- and with the exception of the compounds of the following formulae ##STR32## wherein X is H, Na, K, NH.sub.4, Ca or HN(C.sub.2 H.sub.5).sub.3.
