Abstract
Genetic material encoding the P28 peptide of Toxoplasma gondii has been isolated and characterized. This genetic material allows the production of peptides for use in diagnosis or immunization or can itself be directly used in hybridization assays.
Claims12
A genetically engineered non-glycosylated polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence encoded by a nucleotide sequence of an isolated DNA or RNA molecule encoding Toxoplasma gondii protein P28.
A polypeptide fragment consisting of from 5-100 amino acids in length, having an amino acid sequence corresponding to a portion of the amino acid sequence of Toxoplasma gondii protein P28.
