Abstract
Permanent aqueous marker inks are provided which include surfactant, a pigment, a film-forming polymer, and water. The surfactant may be a combination of a hydrocarbon, preferably an alkylphenol ethyoxylate and a fluorocarbon, or it may be a silicone.
Claims12
An aqueous permanent ink comprising a hydrocarbon surfactant and a fluorocarbon surfactant, a film-forming acrylic polymer, water, and a solid pigment suspended in said water, wherein said hydrocarbon surfactant, said fluorocarbon surfactant, and said film-forming acrylic polymer are selected and provided in relative amounts so that the ink forms a permanent marking on a glass substrate when it is applied to the glass substrate and allowed to dry thereon at room temperature.
An aqueous permanent ink comprising about 0.1 percent total of a blend of a hydrocarbon surfactant and a fluorocarbon surfactant, about 20 to 30 percent of an acrylic film-forming polymer, about 2 to 8 percent of a solid pigment, and sufficient water to provide a viscosity of less than about 20 cps.
An aqueous permanent ink comprising a hydrocarbon surfactant and a fluorocarbon surfactant, provided in a weight ratio of about 1:1, a film-forming acrylic polymer, water, and a solid pigment suspended in said water.
An aqueous permanent ink comprising a hydrocarbon surfactant and a fluorocarbon surfactant, a film-forming polymer, water, and a solid pigment suspended in said water, wherein said ink has a surface tension of less than about 35 dynes/cm.
