Abstract
Compositions containing certain sulfur containing compounds and methods of use in the treatment and prevention of cataracts is disclosed.
Claims6
A method of treating and/or delaying the onset of cataract in mammals comprising administering to the mammal a composition having a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula (III):
- ##STR7## wherein, R and R' are independently H, C.sub.2-10 alkyl, (un)substituted aryl, (un)substituted heterocycle, or may form a ring of formula (II):
- ##STR8## wherein n is 1-3.
A composition for treating and/or delaying the onset of cataracts in mammals comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula (III):
- ##STR10## wherein, R and R' are independently H, C.sub.2-10 alkyl, (un)substituted aryl, (un)substituted heterocycle, or may form a ring of formula (II):
- ##STR11## wherein n is 1-3.
