Abstract
The present invention is a plastic container coated with a multi-layer barrier coating. The multi-layer barrier coating is usefull for providing an effective barrier against gas permeability in containers and for extending shelf-life of containers, especially plastic evacuated blood collection devices.
Claims19
A sample assembly comprising:
- a plastic container having an open end, a closed end, an inner surface and an outer surface;
- and
- a multi-layer barrier coating associated over the outer surface of said container and extending over a major portion of said outer surface of said container, said coating having a first layer comprising a PVDC coating material, and a second layer on said first layer comprising a metal oxide.
