Abstract
A process for producing a compound having the formula ##STR1## wherein X is halogen and R.sup.1 is lower alkyl, benzyl, or phenyl, which comprises reducing a compound having the formula ##STR2## wherein X and R.sup.1 are as above, with an aluminum trialkoxide or lithium aluminum trialkoxyhydride reducing agent.

A process for producing a compound having the formula ##STR19## wherein X is halogen and R.sup.1 is lower alkyl, benzyl, or phenyl, which comprises reducing a compound having the formula ##STR20## wherein X and R.sup.1 are as above, with an aluminum trialkoxide or lithium aluminum trialkoxyhydride reducing agent.
