Use of diethyl dodecylphosphonate (DEDP) for the extraction of acids and metal salts from aqueous solutions.

A method for the extraction of at least one acid or metal salt from an aqueous solution thereof which comprises mixing said solution with diethyl dodecylphosphonate, allowing the mixture to stratify into layers, and separating the layers.
