Abstract
A process for producing a compound of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is heterocyclic(lower)alkyl, R.sup.2 is acyl, and R.sup.3 is carboxy(lower)alkyl or protected carboxy(lower)alkyl, which is useful as a medicament or a salt thereof.

A compound of the general formula:
- ##STR5## wherein R.sup.1 is pyridyl(lower)alkyl;
- and R.sup.2 is acyl;
- or a salt thereof.
A process for producing a compound of the general formula:
- ##STR6## wherein R.sup.1 is pyridyl(lower)alkyl;
- and R.sup.2 is acyl;
- or a salt thereof characterized by subjecting a compound of the general formula:
- ##STR7## wherein R.sup.1 is pyridyl(lower)alkyl;
- R.sup.2 is acyl;
- and
- R.sup.5 is carboxy or protected carboxy;
- or a salt thereof to reduction reaction using a reducing agent which is a di(lower)alkyl aluminum hydride or a alkali metal aluminum hydride.
