A method for visibly reducing a facial wrinkle by topically applying to the wrinkle gulonic acid or a topically effective salt thereof, or gulonolactone.

Method of visibly reducing a human skin wrinkle comprising topically applying to said wrinkle gulonic acid or a topically effective salt thereof, or gulonolactone in an amount and for a period of time sufficient to visibly reduce said wrinkle, wherein said wrinkle is a facial wrinkle.
