An immunogenic polypeptide composition comprising at least two HCV amino acid sequences, each HCV sequence comprising at least one epitope within a variable domain of an HCV envelope protein, wherein the variable domain regions of the amino acid sequences are heterogeneous with each other, are derived from distinct HCV isolates, and each sequence being not longer than the full length envelope protein.
