Abstract
Apparatus for reproducing data not successively located on the recording medium. The apparatus stores the data in a first memory and a data writing position in a second memory, and controls the reading of the first memory to minimize the time the data is unavailable in accordance with the stored data writing position.
Claims12
Apparatus for reproducing data from a recording medium, comprising:
- reproducing means for reproducing the data from said recording medium to provide reproduced data;
- first storing means for storing the reproduced data;
- reading means for reading data from said first storing means;
- decoding means for decoding data read from said first storing means;
- location detection means for detecting a location on said recording medium where the reproduced data is not successively located, said location being defined as a non-successive location;
- second storing means for storing a first position in said first storing means where the reproduced data from said non-successive location is stored in said first storing means;
- and
- read control means for controlling said reading means to selectively start or inhibit reading data from said first storing means in accordance with said first position stored in said second storing means to minimize the time the reproduced data is unavailable for decoding.

- reproducing means for reproducing the data from said recording medium to provide reproduced data;
- first storing means for storing the reproduced data;
- reading means for reading data from said first storing means;
- decoding means for decoding data read from said first storing means;

- second storing means for storing a first position in said first storing means where the reproduced data from said non-successive location is stored in said first storing means;

- decode control means for controlling said decoding means to selectively start or inhibit decoding data read from said first storing means in accordance with said first position stored in said second storing means to minimize the time the reproduced data is unavailable for reading.
