Abstract
Novel pyridiniminyl-1,2-benzisoxazoles and -benzisothiazoles, intermediates and processes for the preparation thereof, and methods of relieving memory dysfunction and treating depression utilizing the 1,2-benzisoxazoles and -benzisothiazoles and intermediates, or compositions thereof are disclosed.
Claims44
A compound of the formula:
- wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, loweralkyl, loweralkenyl, loweralkynyl, lowercycloalkyl, --C(.dbd.O)O-loweralkyl, 1,3-dioxolane, phenyl, cinnamyl, phenyl substituted by loweralkyl, loweralkoxy, halogen, hydroxyl, nitro or trifluoromethyl;
- Q is hydrogen, halogen, loweralkyl or nitro;
- X is oxygen;
- Z is hydrogen, loweralkyl, loweralkoxy, hydroxyl, halogen, nitro, or trifluoromethyl;
- n is 1 to 12;
- the geometric isomers, the optical isomers, or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
