Abstract
An antitumor composition for oral administration, comprising a 2'-deoxy-2'-methylidenecytidine compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a hydrogen or a halogen, and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and each is a hydrogen, a halogen or an alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an acid addition salt thereof or a hydrate thereof, and a sucrose ester of fatty acid(s). The pharmaceutical composition of the present invention comprising a DMDC compound useful as an antitumor agent based on its remarkable degenerative action on solid tumor shows an improved oral absorption.

An antitumor composition for oral administration, comprising an effective amount of a 2'-deoxy-2'-methylidenecytidine compound of the formula ##STR3## wherein R is a hydrogen or a halogen, and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and each is a hydrogen, a halogen or an alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an acid addition salt thereof or a hydrate thereof, and a sucrose ester of fatty acid(s), wherein said tumor is sensitive to treatment with said compound.
