Abstract
The present invention relates to a method of enzymatic polymerization and/or modification of lignin or lignin containing materials. The invention also relates to the use of this method in the manufacture of wood composites or wood laminates.

A method of enzymatic polymerization and modification of non-sulfonated lignin or non-sulfonated lignin containing material by treatment with a peroxidase, wherein, the enzymatic polymerization is performed at alkaline pH values, wherein hydrogen peroxide is added under controlled conditions in which the hydrogen peroxide is not introduced all at once, and polymerization is performed in the absence of any organic solvents.
