Abstract
A novel microparticle preparation comprising microparticles of a polymer which contain a drug and are coated with a film of an agent for preventing aggregation of the microparticles is disclosed. The preparation is produced by spraying a solution of a polymer containing a drug and an aqueous solution of an agent for preventing aggregation of the microparticles separately from different nozzles and contacting them with each other in a spray dryer.
Claims17
An injectable microparticle preparation comprising microparticles of a drug-containing polymer coated with a film comprising a water-soluble agent for preventing aggregation of the microparticles, wherein the microparticles have a mean size of about 0.5 .mu.m to 400 .mu.m, and the polymer is a slightly water-soluble or water-insoluble biocompatible polymer having a weight-average molecular weight of about 5,000 to 20,000.
A microparticle preparation for injection comprising microparticles of a biodegradable polymer which contain a drug and are coated with a film comprising an agent for preventing aggregation of the microparticles, wherein the agent is a water-soluble material, and used in the amount of about 0.2 to 10 times the weight of the polymer, which is produced by spraying separately from different nozzles (a) a solution of the polymer containing the drug and (b) an aqueous solution of the agent for preventing aggregation of the microparticles and contacting the solution and aqueous solution with each other in a spray dryer.
An injectable microparticle preparation comprising microparticles of a drug-containing polymer coated with a film comprising mannitol.
