Abstract
A stabilized carbon cluster conducting material comprising (i) a core comprising a conducting or superconducting carbon cluster and (ii) a sheath covering the core; a device comprising a substrate having thereon a film of a conducting or superconducting carbon cluster covered with a protective film capable of substantially preventing permeation of oxygen and water in the atmosphere; and processes for producing the stabilized carbon cluster conducting material and the device.
Claims8
A process for producing a stabilized carbon cluster conducting material comprising the steps of:
- filling a sheath with a mixture comprising a carbon cluster and a dopant;
- and subjecting said sheath filled with said mixture to a doping treatment;
- wherein the dopant is selected from the group consisting of cations of alkali metals, cations of alkaline earth metals, cations of transition metals, NH.sub.4.sup.+, PH.sub.4.sup.+, cations of metal elements belonging to groups IIb, IIIa, IVa, and Va, trihalide ions, AuI.sub.2.sup.-, AuBr.sub.2.sup.-, NO.sub.3.sup.-, BF.sub.4.sup.-, ClO.sub.4.sup.-, ReO.sub.4.sup.-, PF.sub.6.sup.-, AsF.sub.6.sup.-, Cl.H.sub.2 O, Cu(NCS).sub.2.sup.-, and Cu(N(CN).sub.2)Br.sup.- ;
- and
- wherein said sheath comprises copper or silver.
A process for producing a stabilized carbon cluster conducting material comprising the steps of:
- filling a sheath with a mixture comprising a carbon cluster and a dopant;
- and subjecting said sheath filled with said mixture to a doping treatment;
- wherein the dopant is selected from the group consisting of cations of alkali metals, cations of alkaline earth metals, cations of transition metals, NH.sup.4.sup.+, PH.sub.4.sup.+, cations of metal elements belonging to groups IIb, IIIa, IVa, and Va, trihalide ions, AuI.sub.2.sup.-, AuBr.sub.2.sup.-, NO.sub.3.sup.-, BF.sub.4.sup.-, ClO.sub.4.sup.-, ReO.sub.4.sup.-, PF.sub.6.sup.-, AsF.sub.6.sup.-, Cl.H.sub.2 O, Cu(NCS).sub.2.sup.-, and Cu(N(CN).sub.2)Br.sup.- ;
- and
- wherein said sheath comprises copper or silver, and said carbon cluster is C.sub.60 or a C.sub.60 /C.sub.70 mixture.
A process for producing a stabilized carbon cluster conducting material comprising the steps of:
- filling a sheath with a mixture comprising a carbon cluster and a dopant;
- subjecting said sheath filled with said mixture to a doping treatment;
- and pressing or wire drawing after said doping treatment;
- wherein the dopant is selected from the group consisting of cations of alkali metals, cations of alkaline earth metals, cations of transition metals, NH.sub.4.sup.+, PH.sub.4.sup.+, cations of metal elements belonging to groups IIb, IIIa, IVa, and Va, trihalide ions, AuI.sub.2.sup.-, AuBr.sub.2.sup.-, NO.sub.3.sup.-, BF.sub.4.sup.-, ClO.sub.4.sup.-, ReO.sub.4.sup.-, PF.sub.6.sup.-, AsF.sub.6.sup.-, Cl.H.sub.2 O, Cu(NCS).sub.2.sup.-, and Cu(N(CN).sub.2)Br.sup.-.
