Abstract
Compounds of the formula: ##STR1## and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, pharmaceutical compositions comprising a therapeutically-effective amount of the compounds or salts in combination with a pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier and methods for treating 5-lipoxygenase mediated conditions, inflammation-associated disorders and allergies.
Claims19
A compound of the formula:
- ##STR64## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein:
- R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each tert-butyl;
- n is an integer of from 1 to 5;
- p is an integer of from 0 to 1;
- q is an integer of from 0 to 3;
- r is an integer of from 0 to 1;
- and
- R.sup.3 is ##STR65##
A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier and a pharmaceutically-effective amount of a compound of the formula:
- ##STR76## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein:
- R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each tert-butyl;
- n is an integer of from 1 to 5;
- p is an integer of from 0 to 1;
- q is an integer of from 0 to 3;
- r is an integer of from 0 to 1;
- and
- R.sup.3 is ##STR77##
A method for treating 5-lipoxygenase mediated conditions in an animal in need of such treatment comprising administering to the animal a therapeutically-effective amount of a compound of the formula:
- ##STR78## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein:
- R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each tert-butyl;
- n is an integer of from 1 to 5;
- p is an integer of from 0 to 1;
- q is an integer of from 0 to 3;
- r is an integer of from 0 to 1;
- and
- R.sup.3 is ##STR79##
A method for treating a 5-lipoxygenase-mediated inflammation-associated disorder or allergy in an animal in need of such treatment comprising administering to the animal a therapeutically-effective amount of a compound of the formula:
- ##STR80## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein:
- R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each tert-butyl;
- n is an integer of from 1 to 5;
- p is an integer of from 0 to 1;
- q is an integer of from 0 to 3;
- r is an integer of from 0 to 1;
- and
- R.sup.3 is ##STR81##
