Abstract
An aqueous colloidal dispersion for diagnostic or immunodiagnostic tests, comprising non-polymer nuclei surrounded by a hydrophilic copolymer that contains functional groups, a method for the detection of a specifically binding substance or immunochemically active component in a test fluid, and test kit containing the aqueous colloidal dispersion.

An aqueous colloidal dispersion for diagnostic tests containing particles comprising non-polymer nuclei surrounded by a hydrophilic copolymer that contains functional groups, wherein each non-polymer nucleus makes up at least 50% by weight of each particle and each nucleus is surrounded by its own shell of said hydrophilic copolymer, and wherein said non-polymer nuclei function as detectable colorimetric labels and are selected from the group consisting of gold sols and dyestuff sols.
