Abstract
Anti-yellowing additives, based on N-amino alkyl carbamates, for use with thermocurable coating compositions containing polyisocyanate crosslinkers capped with ketoxime.
Claims16
A coating composition comprising:
- (a) a component comprising at least one functional group that is reactive with isocyanate;
- (b) a polyisocyanate functional material whose isocyanate groups are at least partially capped with a ketoxime;
- and
- (c) an N-amino carbamate separate from (a) or (b) or grafted onto (b), and represented by the structural formula:
- ##STR2## where R.sup.1 is chosen from the group consisting of alkyl, cycloalkyl and aryl groups, R.sup.1 being substantially free of groups reactive with isocyanate, and R.sup.2 is chosen from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, and aryl groups.

A coating composition comprising:
- (a) a component comprising at least one functional group that is reactive with isocyanate;
- (b) a polyisocyanate functional material whose isocyanate groups are partially capped with a ketoxime, and partially capped with an N-amino carbamate moiety represented by the structural formula:
- ##STR3## where R.sup.1 is chosen from the group consisting of allylene, cycloalloylene, and arylene groups substantially free of groups reactive with isocyanate, and X is hydrogen.
