Abstract
A method for producing a cathode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which comprises the step of heating a mixture of .beta.-Ni(OH).sub.2 and a lithium salt in the presence of oxygen at a temperature ranging from 600.degree. C. to 800.degree. C. to obtain LiNiO.sub.2.
Claims7
A method for producing a cathode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, comprising the step of heating a mixture of .beta.-Ni(OH).sub.2 and a lithium salt in the presence of oxygen at a temperature ranging from 600.degree. C. to 800.degree. C. to obtain LiNiO.sub.2.
A method for producing a cathode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, comprising the step of heating a mixture of .beta.-Ni(OH).sub.2, a lithium salt and one member selected from the group consisting of a cobalt salt and a manganese salt in the presence of oxygen at a temperature ranging from 600.degree. C. to 800.degree. C. to obtain a compound represented by the general formula LiNi.sub.1-x MxO.sub.2, wherein M is Co or Mn, and 0<x.ltoreq.0.2.
