A process for preparing a crystalline aluminosilicate characterized by an x-ray diffraction pattern as follows:

• the process comprising the steps of:
• forming a reaction mixture comprising a source of silica, a source of alumina, water, a source of alkali metal, and a source of tetraethylammonium cation, wherein said mixture exhibits a composition in terms of mole ratios as follows:
• ______________________________________ SiO.sub.2 /Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 >120 TEA.sup.+ /SiO.sub.2 0.2-0.95 H.sub.2 O/SiO.sub.2 20-300 OH.sup.- /SiO.sub.2 0.55-0.65 ______________________________________
• wherein TEA.sup.+ is said tetraethylammonium cation;
• and
• maintaining said mixture at an elevated temperature so as to provide a crystalline aluminosilicate.
