Abstract
Fluorenyl-containing silyl bridged metallocenes, the process of using such metallocenes to polymerize olefins, and the resulting unusual syndiotactic polypropylene are disclosed.
Claims17
A bridged sandwich-bonded metallocene of a metal selected from Group IV of the Periodic Table wherein the organic ligand is selected from compounds of the formula ##STR5## wherein Z and Z' are different, Z is an unsubstituted fluorenyl radical or a symmetrically substituted fluorenyl radical and Z' is an unsubstituted cyclopentadienyl radical, a symmetrically substituted cyclopentadienyl radical, an unsubstituted fluorenyl radical, or a symmetrically substituted fluorenyl radical;
- and each R' is the same or different organo radical having 1 to 20 carbon atoms.
