Abstract
Aromatic copolyamides, production thereof, formed structures and production thereof Described are aromatic copolyamides comprising the structural repeat units of the formulae I, II and III ##STR1## where Ar.sup.1, Ar.sup.2, Ar.sup.3 and Ar.sup.4 are independently of one another bivalent aromatic radicals whose valence bonds are disposed para or comparably coaxial or parallel to each other,
Claims43
An aromatic copolyamide comprising the structural repeat units of the formulae I, II and III ##STR6## where Ar.sup.1, Ar.sup.2, Ar.sup.3 and Ar.sup.4 are independently of one another bivalent aromatic radicals whose valence bonds are disposed para or comparably coaxial or parallel to each other,
- Ar.sup.5 is a non-Ar.sup.3 bivalent aromatic radical whose valence bonds are disposed para or comparably coaxial or parallel to each other, or Ar.sup.5 is a bivalent aromatic radical whose valence bonds are disposed meta or comparably angled to each other,
- Y is --O--, --S-- or --NR.sup.1 -- where R.sup.1 a univalent organic radical or hydrogen, and
- Ar.sup.1, Ar.sup.2, Ar.sup.3, Ar.sup.4 and Ar.sup.5 are independently of one another optionally substituted by one or two radicals inert toward carbonyl chlorides.
A formed structure comprising aromatic polyamides comprising the structural repeat unit of the formula I ##STR9## having a sulfur content of less than 0.1% by weight, based on the dry substance of the formed structure.
