Abstract
A stripping and cleaning composition is provided which contains a polyhydric alcohol, fluoboric acid, a fluorine containing compound and a polar solvent. The pH of the composition is less than 5. Also provided is a method of stripping and cleaning utilizing the compositions of the invention.
Claims5
A stripping and cleaning composition consisting essentially of the admixture of:
- (a) about 60 to 85% by weight of propylene glycol;
- (b) about 5 to 40% by weight of dimethylsulfoxide;
- (c) about 0.5 to 10% by weight of 50% fluoroboric acid;
- (d) an effective amount of corrosion inhibitor;
- and
- (e) the remainder being ammonium tetrafluoroborate,
- wherein said composition has a pH less than 5.

A stripping and cleaning composition comprising the admixture of:
- (a) about 71.0-73.5% by weight of propylene glycol;
- (b) about 20% by weight of dimethylsulfoxide;
- (c) about 2.5-5.0% by weight of water;
- (d) about 1.5% by weight of ammonium fluoride;
- and
- (e) about 2.5-5.0% by weight of 50% aqueous fluoroboric acid,
- wherein said composition has a pH less than 5.

- (b) about 1% by weight of ammonium fluoride;
