Abstract
This invention is therapeutically useful 2-aminotetralins and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof of the formula ##STR1## R, R.sub.1 to R.sub.5 and p are as defined in the specification, these compounds are useful to treat central nervous system disorders, hypertension, diabetes, sexual impotency and to control appetite.
Claims6
A compound having the formula I
- wherein R is hydrogen or halogen,
- wherein R.sub.1 is 8--SO.sub.2 NR.sub.7 R.sub.8
- wherein R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are independently
- (a) --hydrogen,
- (b) --(C.sub.1 -C.sub.8) alkyl,
- (c) --(C.sub.2 -C.sub.8) alkenyl,
- (d) --(C.sub.2 -C.sub.8) alkynyl,
- (e) --(CH.sub.2).sub.m --(C.sub.3 -C.sub.8)cycloalkyl,
- (f) --(CH.sub.2).sub.m --(C.sub.3 -C.sub.8)cycloalkenyl,
- (g) --(CH.sub.2).sub.m -aryl,
- with the proviso that one of R.sub.2 or R.sub.3 must be selected from (c), (d), (e), (f) or (g),
- wherein R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are independently
- (a) --hydrogen,
- (b) --(C.sub.1 -C.sub.8)alkyl,
- (c) --(C.sub.2 -C.sub.8)alkenyl,
- (d) --(C.sub.2 -C.sub.8)alkynyl,
- (e) --(CH.sub.2 --m--(C.sub.3 -C.sub.8)cycloalkyl,
- (f) --(CH.sub.2).sub.m --(C.sub.3 -C.sub.8)cycloalkenyl,
- (g) --(CH.sub.2).sub.m -aryl,
- (h) --(CH.sub.2).sub.m --CO.sub.2 R.sub.6,
- (i) --(CH.sub.2).sub.m --OR.sub.6,
- wherein R.sub.6, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 are independently
- (a) --hydrogen,
- (b) --(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkyl,
- (c) --(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkenyl,
- (d) --(C.sub.3 -C.sub.8)cycloalkyl
- m is 0-4, and
- p is 0-1.
