Abstract
Ethylenically unsaturated polymerisable compounds can be cured with daylight or with light sources equivalent to daylight by using as hardener a photoinitiator of formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, unsubstituted phenyl, naphthyl or biphenyl, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each independently of the other C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, R.sub.4 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, and R.sub.5 is hydrogen or methyl.
Claims19
A process for curing ethylenically unsaturated polymerisable compounds, which comprises adding to said compounds at least one photoinitiator of formula I ##STR7## wherein R.sub.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, unsubstituted phenyl, naphthyl or biphenyl,
- R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each independently of the other C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl,
- R.sub.4 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, and
- R.sub.5 is hydrogen or methyl,
- and irradiating the mixture so obtained with daylight or with light sources equivalent to daylight.
A composition comprising
- (A) at least one ethylenically unsaturated polymerisable compound, and
- (B) at least one photoinitiatior of formula I,
- which composition is curable by irradiation with daylight or with light sources equivalent to daylight.
