Abstract
A method for utilizing p53 cDNA, and p53 gene products for the suppression of the neoplastic phenotype.
Claims6
A method of treating mammalian cancer cells lacking endogenous wild-type p53 protein, comprising introducing a wild-type p53 tumor suppressor gene encoding said endogenous wild-type p53 protein into said mammalian cancer cells, whereby said mammalian cancer cells' neoplastic phenotype is suppressed.
A method of treating mammalian cancer cells lacking endogenous wild-type p53 protein, comprising introducing into said mammalian cancer cells a wild-type p53 tumor suppressor gene derived from the same mammalian species as said mammalian cancer cells, whereby said mammalian cancer cells' neoplastic phenotype is suppressed.
