Abstract
Substantially constant boiling compositions of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane and dimethyl ether and its use as a refrigerant, aerosol propellant and polymer foam blowing agent are disclosed.
Claims7
A refrigerant composition consisting essentially of about 9.9-99 weight percent 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane and about 1-10 weight percent dimethyl ether, said composition having a vapor pressure substantially equal to the vapor pressure of dichlorodifluoromethane at the same temperature and wherein the difference in pressure between the dew point and bubble point pressures for said composition at a temperature of about 0.degree. C. is less than about 0.73 psia.
A composition that is nonflammable at ambient temperature, and consists essentially of 91-99 weight percent 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane and 1-9 weight percent dimethyl ether.
A composition consisting essentially of 91-99 weight percent 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane and about 1-9 weight percent dimethyl ether, wherein the vapor pressure of said composition is within about 25% of the vapor pressure of dichlorodifluoromethane at the same temperature.
