Abstract
Novel conjugate of the general formula A--L.sub.1 --L.sub.2 --B wherein A and B are the substances to be coupled selected from the groups of haptens, proteins, polysaccharides, soluble polystyrenes, or peptides, L.sub.1 and L.sub.2 are trivalent linkers and L.sub.1 and L.sub.2 are bound via two thioether. They can be used in immunological assays and exhibit an improved storage stability.
Claims13
A conjugate of the formula
- A--L.sub.1 --L.sub.2 --B
- wherein A and B are substances to be coupled and are selected from the group consisting of haptens, proteins, peptides, polysaccharides and polystyrenes, and
- L.sub.1 and L.sub.2 are trivalent linkers, wherein L.sub.1 and L.sub.2 are linked to each other by two thioether bonds.
A method for producing a conjugate of the formula
- A--L.sub.1 --L.sub.2 --B
- wherein A and B are substances to be coupled and are selected from the group consisting of haptens, proteins, peptides, polysaccharides and polystyrene, and L.sub.1 and L.sub.2 are trivalent linkers, wherein L.sub.1 and L.sub.2 are linked to each other by two thioether bonds, comprising the steps of
- linking a first substance A to be coupled to a homobidental, trifunctional linker L.sub.1 containing two maleinimido groups to form AL.sub.1,
- linking a second substance B to be coupled to a homobidental, trifunctional linker L.sub.2 containing two thiol groups to form BL.sub.2, and
- reacting the thiol groups of BL.sub.2 with the maleinimido groups of AL.sub.2 to form two thioether bonds linking AL.sub.1 to BL.sub.2.
