Abstract
The invention relates to pyridine-2,4- and -2,5-dicarboxylic acid derivatives of the formula I ##STR1## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2, 3.sup.3, R.sup.4 and X have the meanings given, a process for the preparation of these compounds and their use, in particular in medicaments for influencing the metabolism of collagen and collagen-like substances or the biosynthesis of Cl.sub.q.
Claims5
A pharmaceutical composition for the inhibition of proline hydroxylase and lysine hydroxylase in a mammal which comprises an effective amount for said inhibition of a pyridine-2,4-dicarboxylic acid diamide of the formula ##STR8## in which R.sup.1' and R.sup.3' denote hydroxyethyl or methyl;
- and
- R.sup.2' and R.sup.4' denote hydrogen;
- together with a pharmaceutically tolerated vehicle.
A method for inhibiting proline hydroxylase and lysine hydroxylase in a mammal comprising administering a pharmaceutically effective amount of a N,N'-di-(hydroxymethyl)-2, 5-pyridine dicarboxylic acid diamide or a pyridine-2,4-dicarboxylic acid diamide of the formula ##STR9## in which R.sup.1' and R.sup.3' denote hydroxyethyl or methyl;
- and
- R.sup.2' and R.sup.4' denote hydrogen.
A method for fibrosuppression and immunosuppression in a mammal comprising administering a pharmaceutically effective amount of a N,N'-di-(hydroxymethyl)-2, 5-pyridine dicarboxylic acid diamide or a pyridine-2,4-dicarboxylic acid diamide of the formula ##STR10## in which R.sup.1' and R.sup.3' denote hydroxyethyl or methyl;
- and
- R.sup.2' and R.sup.4' denote hydrogen.
A method for influencing the metabolism of collagen and collagen-like substances or the biosynthesis of Clq in a mammal comprising administering a pharmaceutically effective amount of a N,N'-di-(hydroxymethyl)-2, 5-pyridine dicarboxylic acid diamide or a pyridine-2,4-dicarboxylic acid diamide of the formula ##STR11## in which R.sup.1' and R.sup.3' denote hydroxyethyl or methyl;
- and
- R.sup.2' and R.sup.4' denote hydrogen.
A method for treating a disturbance of the metabolism of collagen and collagen-like substances or the biosynthesis of Clq in a mammal comprising administering a pharmaceutically effective amount of a N,N'-di-(hydroxymethyl)-2, 5-pyridine dicarboxylic acid diamide or a pyridine-2,4-dicarboxylic acid diamide of the formula ##STR12## in which R.sup.1' and R.sup.3' denote hydroxyethyl or methyl;
- and
- R.sup.2' and R.sup.4' denote hydrogen.
