Abstract
Tumor Necrosis Factor Binding Proteins (TBPs) are useful in the treatment of autoimmune diseases and graft-versus-host reactions.
Claims12
A method for the treatment of an autoimmune disease or graft-versus-host reaction in a patient, comprising administering to said patient an effective amount of at least one protein selected from the group consisting of proteins having an amino acid sequence substantially corresponding to that of the binding site of the cell surface TNF receptors types I and II and that have the same ability to bind to TNF as natural or recombinant Tumor Necrosis Factor Binding Protein I (TBP-I) or Tumor Necrosis Factor Binding Protein II (TBP-II).
A method for the treatment of an autoimmune disease or graft-versus-host reaction in a patient, comprising administering to said patient an effective amount of at least one protein selected from the group consisting of proteins having an amino acid sequence substantially corresponding to that of natural or recombinant and that have the same ability to bind to TNF as natural or recombinant TBP-I or TBP-II.
