Abstract
Synthetic organic fibers containing finely divided, inorganic particles that have certain organic polymeric coatings have significantly less abrasiveness than do identical fibers containing such particles without any such polymeric coatings.
Claims6
An improved synthetic organic fiber containing freely-divided, inorganic particles dispersed within the fiber, the improvement comprising the inorganic particles having a solid coating of an organic polymer that is different from the polymer of the synthetic organic fiber, the coating polymer having a number average molecular weight of at least 600 and less than 2,500.
