Abstract
Disclosed is a magnetic recording medium comprising a non-magnetic support having thereon a plurality of layers, wherein an outermost layer is a magnetic layer having a thickness of less than 0.5 .mu.m, and layers other than the outermost layer contain two or more kinds of non-magnetic powder having different average particle sizes. The magnetic recording medium has high durability in running under high temperature and high humidity.
Claims6
A magnetic recording medium comprising:
- a non-magnetic support;
- an outermost magnetic layer containing a first binder and at least one powder selected from the group consisting of ferromagnetic metal powder and hexagonal ferrite powder, said outermost magnetic layer having a thickness of less than 0.5 .mu.m;
- and
- an inner layer, adjacent to said outermost layer, containing a second binder, a first non-magnetic powder having a first average particle size of 10 to 30 nm, and a second non-magnetic powder having a second average particle size of not less than 40 nm.
