Abstract
A treatment for stabilizing an isothiazolone compound comprising adding to the compound a stabilizing amount of a metal salt, wherein the cation of the metal salt is an alkali metal, and the anion is selected from the group consisting of acetate, citrate, phosphate and borate.
Claims11
A method of stabilizing an aqueous solution containing an isothiazolone compound against chemical decomposition of the compound which comprises adding to the solution a stabilizing amount of a metal salt, wherein the cation of said metal salt is an alkali metal, and the anion is selected from the group consisting of acetate, citrate, phosphate and borate.
A composition comprising an isothiazolone compound and a stabilizing amount of a metal salt combined with an acid in the form of a buffer solution, wherein the cation of said metal salt is an alkali metal, and the anion is selected from the group consisting of acetate, citrate, phosphate and borate.
