Abstract
An imidazopyridine derivative of formula I! is disclosed ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is lower alkyl, R.sup.2 is a group of the formula ##STR2## Z is oxygen, R.sup.0 is a pyridyl, furyl or thienyl group, R.sup.3 is carboxyl or lower alkoxycarbonyl, Ring A is tetrazoyl-substituted phenyl and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, for use in the prophylaxis and treatment of hypertension.
Claims10
An imidazopyridine derivative of the formula (I):
- ##STR64## wherein R.sup.1 is a lower alkyl group;
- R.sup.2 is a group of the formula:
- ##STR65## in which R.sup.0 is a 5- or 6-membered heteromonocyclic group selected from a pyridyl group, a furyl group and a thienyl group;
- R.sup.3 is carboxyl group or a lower alkoxycarbonyl group;
- and
- Ring A is a tetrazolyl-substituted phenyl group, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
2-n-Butyl-5-(2-thienyl)carbonyl-3- (2'-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-yl)methyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroimidazo(4,5-c )-pyridine-4-carboxylic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
2-n-Butyl-5-(2-furyl)carbonyl-3-(2'-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)biphenyl-4-yl)met hyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroimidazo(4,5-c)-pyridine-4-carboxylic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
