An ophthalmic pharmaceutical composition containing an association of N-acetyl-cysteine and polyvinylalcohol useful for the treatment of keratoconjunctivitis sicca.

A method for the treatment of keratoconjunctivitis sicca comprising administration to a person in need thereof of an ophthalmic pharmaceutical comprising 3-5% weight per volume N-acetyl-cysteine and 1-97% weight per volume polyvinylalcohol.
