Abstract
An improved method for synthesizing arylsilanes is disclosed. Novel catalysts for use in the method are provided. A method for synthesizing the novel catalysts is also disclosed.

A method of synthesizing an arylsilane which comprises reacting a hydrosilane and an arene in the presence of a hydrogen acceptor and a transition metal catalyst, thereby forming an arylsilane.
