Abstract
Herbicidal substituted thienylsulphonylureas of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents ethyl or n-propyl, R.sup.2 represents hydrogen or methyl, X and Y are identical or different and each represent hydrogen, hydroxyl, amino, cyano, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 -cycloalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -halogenoalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -halogeno-alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylthio, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylamino or di-(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl)-amino and Z represents nitrogen, a CH group or a C-halogen group, and their salts.

A thiophene derivative of the formula ##STR24## in which A represents NH.sub.2, NH--CO--O--R.sup.3 or N.dbd.C.dbd.O,
- R.sup.1 represents ethyl or n-propyl and
- R.sup.3 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, phenyl or benzyl.
