Abstract
Ceramic compositions based on yttrium oxide contain a minor amount of a titanium oxide and are readily sintered into dense ceramic shaped articles well adopted for metallurgical applications.
Claims11
A sintered ceramic shaped article comprising 80% to 99.99% by weight of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3 and 0.01% to 20% by weight of a titanium oxide, the sintered shaped article having a density greater than 4.5 g/cm.sup.3.
A sintered ceramic shaped article comprising 80% to 99.99% by weight of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3 and 0.01% to 20% by weight a titanium oxide the sintered ceramic shaped article having a density greater than 4.5 g/cm.sup.3 which corresponds to a density of at least 90% of the theoretical density.
