Abstract
The invention herein relates to certain substituted-arylpyrazole compounds, herbicidal compositions containing same, herbicidal methods of use and processes for preparing said compounds.

Process for the method of using ##STR389## compounds according to Formula Y, ##STR390## in the preparation of compounds of Formula Z ##STR391## comprising the reaction of a compound of Formula Y with (1) a C.sub.1-5 alcohol in the presence of a mineral acid or (2) a mineral acid followed by a C.sub.1-5 alcohol, and thereafter isolating a compound of Formula Z, wherein
- R.sub.1 is methyl;
- R.sub.2 is C.sub.1-5 haloalkyl;
- R.sub.3 is halo;
- R.sub.5 is halo;
- R.sub.6 is halo;
- and
- R.sub.38 is --OC.sub.1-5 alkyl.
