Abstract
This invention relates to the novel compounds and pharmaceutical compositions of Formulas (I) and (II). This invention also relates to a method of treating or reducing inflammation in a mammal in need thereof, which comprises administering to said mammal an effective amount of a compound or composition of Formula (I) or (II).

A compound of the formula:
- ##STR6## wherein R.sub.1 is cyano;
- R.sub.5 is C(O)(CH.sub.2).sub.q aryl or S(O).sub.2 (CH.sub.2).sub.q aryl;
- q is an integer having a value of 1 to 18;
- X is carbon, oxygen, --NC.sub.1-4 alkyl, or sulfur;
- R.sub.8 is independently hydrogen or alkyl.sub.1-6 ;
- R.sub.6 is independently selected from hydrogen, halogen, alkyl.sub.1-5, cycloalkyl.sub.5,8, hydroxy, (CHY).sub.t carboxy, alkoxy.sub.1-5, thioalkyl.sub.1-5, sulphinylalkyl.sub.1-5, sulphonylalkyl.sub.1-5, halosubstituted alkyl.sub.1-6, (CHY).sub.t N(R.sub.8).sub.2, cyano or an optionally substituted aryl C.sub.1-4 alkyl;
- r is an integer having a value of 1 or 3;
- t is a number having a value of 0 or 1;
- Y is hydrogen or alkyl.sub.1-4 ;
- or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
