A phthalocyanine composition which comprises a mixture of a titanylphthalocyanine and a halogenated metal phthalocyanine in which a central metal is trivalent and having main diffraction peaks at 7.5.degree., 22.5.degree., 24.3.degree., 25.3.degree. and 28.6.degree. of Bragg angles (2.theta..+-.0.2.degree.) in an X-ray diffraction spectrum with Cu K.alpha..
A process for preparing a phthalocyanine composition comprising a mixture of a titanylphthalocyanine and a halogenated metal phthalocyanine in which a central metal is trivalent and having main diffraction peaks at 7.5.degree., 22.5.degree., 24.3.degree., 25.3.degree. and 28.6.degree. of Bragg angles (2.theta..+-.0.2.degree.) in an X-ray diffraction spectrum with Cu K.alpha., which comprises mixing a titanylphthalocyanine and a halogenated metal phthalocyanine in which a central metal is trivalent to prepare a phthalocyanine mixture, making the mixture amorphous by an acid pasting method, washing amorphous precipitates with water until a washing water after washing has a pH of 3 to 6 and a conductivity of 10 to 300 .mu.S/cm, and then treating the mixture with an organic solvent to convert a crystal form of the composition.
