Antidandruff agents and cosmetic preparations

A cosmetic preparation comprising, a compound present in an amount of from 0.05 to 10% of the formula I ##STR5## in which R.sup.`, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 are identical or different and are hydrogen or alkyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms,

• X is S or O,
• Y is hydrogen or up to two halogen atoms,
• Z is a single bond or the divalent radicals O, S, --CH.sub.2 --, --CH.sub.2 --O--, --O--CH.sub.2 --, --CH.sub.2 --S--, --S--CH.sub.2 -- or --CH.dbd.CH--CH.sub.2 --O--,
• Ar is an aromatic ring system which is phenyl, naphthyl, tetrahydronaphthyl, indenyl, biphenyl, diphenylether, or diphenylthioether and which can be substituted by up to three radicals selected from the group consisting of fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, trifluoromethyl, and trifluoromethoxy, and their salts, or compounds of formula I or their salts, said compound of the formula I being present in sufficient quantity to have an antidandruff effect, and
• a detergent raw material selected from the group consisting of anionic, cationic, nonionic and amphoteric detergent substances for application to the hair and scalp.
