A dye of the structural formula:
- ##STR12## Wherein:
- R.sub.1 is an alkyl group having from 6 to 16 carbon atoms;
- R.sub.2 is one of the substitutents in the following list of substitutents:
- ##STR13## where, R.sub.4 is:
- --H, --lower alkyl, --lower alkoxyl;
- R.sub.5 is:
- --H --lower alkyl, --lower alkoxyl;
- R.sub.6 is:
- --lower alkyl, --lower hydroxyalkyl, --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 CO.sub.2 M;
- R.sub.7 is:
- --lower hydroxylalkyl, --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 CO.sub.2 M;
- or ##STR14## M is --H, --NH.sub.4, --Li, --Na, --K.
