Abstract
The new fluoro-trifluoromethylbenzoic acid derivatives of the general formula (I) ##STR1## wherein the substituents R, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 have the meaning given in the description, are suitable as starting substances for the preparation of antibacterial agents and feed additives.

A Fluoro-trifluoromethylbenzoic acid derivative of the formula (I) ##STR32## wherein R represents hydroxyl, --OM, halogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy,
- wherein
- M represents an alkali metal and either
- a) R.sup.1 represents F, R.sup.2 represents F, R.sup.3 represents H, R.sup.4 represents H and R.sup.5 represents CF.sub.3
- or b) R.sup.1 represents F, R.sup.2 represents CF.sub.3, R.sup.3 represents F, R.sup.4 represents H and R.sup.5 represents H
- or c) R.sup.1 represents F, R.sup.2 represents CF.sub.3, R.sup.3 represents H, R.sup.4 represents H and R.sup.5 represents F
- or d) R.sup.1 represents F, R.sup.2 represents F, R.sup.3 represents CF.sub.3, R.sup.4 represents Ha n d R.sup.5 represents H
- or e) R.sup.1 represents F, R.sup.2 represents H,R.sup.3 represents CF.sub.3, R.sup.4 represents Ha n d R.sup.5 represents F
