Abstract
The present invention is directed to ICE and ICE-like compositions formed by combining two subunits of ICE and folding such subunits to form an active enzyme.
Claims46
A method of making interleukin-1 beta converting enzyme (ICE) or ICE-like compositions having a first subunit and a second subunit, comprising the steps:
- (a) combining denatured first and second subunits to form an admixture of said first and second subunits;
- (b) imposing folding conditions for folding the first and second subunits in said admixture to form an ICE or ICE-like composition.
A non-naturally occurring recombinant interleukin-1 beta converting enzyme (ICE) or ICE-like composition comprising two subunits, at least one of said subunits being produced in procaryotic cells, which subunits are denatured, combined and folded to form said non-naturally occurring ICE or ICE-like composition.
A crystal comprising interleukin-1 beta converting enzyme (ICE) or an ICE-like composition complexed to an ICE inhibitor.
